Spiritual Practices

This week we practice forgiveness.  Today as you leave the sanctuary you will see rocks around the base of the cross on the black draped side.  Take a moment. Consider where unforgiveness lurks in your heart and mind.  Move your rock to the base of the cross on the white draped side. Move as many rocks as you would like.  It will be up during the week. Stop in at any time and practice forgiveness.

What to Expect

We know it can be intimidating to walk into a large building, and our hope is to make it as comfortable and friendly as possible. What Time is Service?

Sundays at 9:30 a.m. This traditional worship service offers a slightly more formal environment, liturgical readings, communion, choir music, and relevant, inspirational sermons. It is designed for families seeking weekly worship in a more traditional format.

Sundays at 10:45 a.m. Our contemporary service each weekend includes modern touches and is perfect for all ages. Expect a casual and uplifting environment, an encouraging message, and engaging contemporary Christian music from our praise band.

Communion is offered at both services on the 1st and 4th Sundays of the month.

Which Door Do I Enter?

For worship, the main entrance are the large doors near the roundabout in the center of the building.

However, our Ready, Set, Grow! Preschool door to the north or Office Entrance door to the the south side of the building will be open on Sundays too. We will have Greeters ready to welcome you in whichever of these three doors you choose!

Can I Bring My Younger Kids and/or Infants?

Children are welcome in Worship! At King of Kings, we encourage families to worship together as our children learn by example. For our younger worshipers, we offer busy bags when entering the worship area. We typically show a brief Children’s Message video before the sermon which engages our students and summarizes the message in a fun and easy to understand way. Adults tend to enjoy this aspect of worship as well.

The Lamb’s Gate Nursery has fun toys, games, and snacks for your child to enjoy while you attend worship or other events at church. The nursery is staffed by trained King of Kings members and volunteers who have completed prior comprehensive background and reference checks and have first aid training.

The nursery is open during all worship services. It is located at the end of the west hallway between the Sanctuary and the Holy Grounds Cafe. To learn more about our nursery, contact Andrea Villanueva.

Pre-K to 5th Grade: Visiting kids ages Pre-K to 5th grade are invited to take part in our Kids of the Kingdom Sunday School program. Simply print the Visitor form, fill it out, and bring it when you check in your child at the Children’s Education Room.

The King’s Choir

The King’s Choir performs special music approximately once a month during the traditional worship services on Sunday mornings (9:30 a.m.). This choir is open to all singers ages high school and up. Interested in joining the King’s Choir? Come to practice on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary. For more information, contact Jim Lindstrom.

Worship Band

The Worship Band leads our 10:45 a.m. Sunday service. The team leads worship with a variety of contemporary Christian songs and modern hymn arrangements. Rehearsals are on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. We’re always looking for new talent! Instrumentalists and vocalists are added to the team by audition. If you would like to share your talent, contact Sam Johnson.

All the King's Men

All the King’s Men is a male choir that sings special music approximately once a month at the traditional worship services on Sunday mornings (9:30 a.m.). If you’re interested in singing with All the King’s Men, join the group during practice on Wednesday evenings from 8:15-9:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. For more information contact Jim Lindstrom.

Jesus Jammers

The Jesus Jammers music group is an excellent way for children to share Christ’s love in a fun, energetic, and musical way. The group sings approximately once a month at both Sunday services and rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-6:00 p.m. during the school year. The JuBELLation Ringers

This group participates in worship about once a month and plays a variety of music arrangements. No experience is required. All you need is a joy for music in worship! For more information about joining The JuBELLation Ringers, contact Jim Lindstrom.

The King’s Heralds Brass Ensemble

The King’s Heralds Brass Ensemble plays brass quartet and quintet arrangements of a variety of styles. This group also leads congregational hymns with the organ about once a month at our traditional services. The group rehearses on Sundays from 11 a.m. to Noon. New musicians are always welcome! Interested in serving in worship?

Over 100 volunteers dedicate hours of their time to make worship possible each week. Through sharing their specific gifts and talents, these generous individuals come together to give King of Kings a uniquely warm community that stands out among other churches in Woodbury. If you would like to sign up to serve in worship, contact Kathy Becher.

If you are interested in joining our Production & Tech team, contact Jake Pickett. The production and tech team makes everything you see and hear at worship possible. They manage the audio, visual, and lighting aspects at all of our worship services and other special events. They create a great worship experience by running the sound board, operating the slides, playing videos, adjusting the lighting within the sanctuary and so much more!

Welcome to the Holy Grounds Café

Our Holy Grounds Café is a warm place to connect with your friends, neighbors, and family of faith before and after Sunday service. Coffee, connection, and good conversation are also available Friday mornings with our 50’s+ Group.

Holy Grounds is the perfect place to celebrate God’s grace. Stop by for a hot or cold beverage and delicious food; you can even volunteer to help serve! Contact us below to learn more about our volunteer opportunities.
